Carroll L. Bartholome, 85, of Bellechester, passed away peacefully at Zumbrota Care Center on Friday, November 4, 2022.

Carroll was born May 31, 1937 in Red Wing to Leonard and Lorretta (Strauss) Bartholome. He attended school at St. Mary’s Catholic school in Bellechester until 8th grade and was a 1955 graduate of Goodhue High School. After graduation, Carroll went to work on the family dairy farm, as the 4th generation farmer. On October 18, 1971, Carroll was united in marriage to Mary Ann Sipple at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Rochester. They shared 37 years of marriage before Mary Ann passed away February 8, 2008.  He was named the Conservation Farmer of the Year in Wabasha County in 1991 and received many awards for milk production and genetics on the farm throughout the years. Carroll loved John Deere tractors, going to the local feed store to catch up on the latest news, and riding around the farm on his ATV. Carroll also loved all animals and going for Sunday drives. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Carroll was hardworking, strong willed with a laidback personality. He was a great dad, grandpa, and had such a big heart. There are so many stories and memories we have been told and yet we wish we could hear more. He always kept us informed with news about his friends and things that he did, always with a great sense of humor and a big smile. A hard part of losing someone and letting them go, is knowing there won’t be any more new stories to be told.

Carroll is survived by his children, Paula (Shawn) Powers, Debra Bartholome, Jim (Lisa) Bartholome  all of Bellechester; grandchildren, Ashley Warnke, Samantha, Madison, Austin and Dominic Bartholome, Megan Powers and Ben and Aaron Powers, Carroll is also survived by his brother, Leon (Agnes) Bartholome; sister, Mary (Dave) Thimmesch; sisters-in-law, Mary Lou Bartholome and Marlene Sipple; special friend, Marlys Hinirichs and several nieces and nephews. Carroll was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann; brother, Lyle; sister-in-law, Katherine Haberman; brothers-in-law, Richard Sipple and Tom Haberman and by his parents, Leonard and Lorretta.
