Goodhue Class of 1972 Holds 50th Reunion

Posted

Goodhue High School graduated 72 bright, energetic students in 1972.  In 2022, 33 of them gathered at the Zumbrota VFW Saturday evening, August 20th for their 50th class reunion.

Much has changed in 50 years, not the least of which is the Goodhue School itself.  Superintendent, Evan Gough took the class on a tour of the recently renovated building. The group then enjoyed happy hour and a catered meal at the VFW.

One thing that hasn’t changed is the classmates fondness for each other.  They anxiously wait for reunions which offer them a chance to visit and catch up, staying until closing time.  Paul Thomforde traveled the most miles, coming from Phoenix, Arizona to attend the event.

Their fondness is evident in the fact that the class produced six married couples.  Dick and Rox Lodermeier, Rich and Sue Majerus, Neil and Corrine Stehr, Bob and Donna Roschen, Al and Maureen Lodermeier, and Todd and Joann Schulz were all 1972 graduates. All of these couples married young and remained married.  Unfortunately, Al and Neil were not able to attend the reunion due to medical issues and Todd passed away in 2021.  Seven other classmates, Dean Banitt, Mark Burfeind, Jim Gorman, Randy Peper, Gary Farrell, John Ryan, and Larry Lodermeier, have also passed away.
