Deloris Ruth Schulz, 95, of Red Wing, died Friday, July 1, 2022 at her residence at Madonna Meadows in Rochester. She was born June 16, 1927, in Red Wing, to Albert and Minnie (Stechmann) Bredehoft. She grew up on the family farm near Zumbrota and graduated from Zumbrota High School in 1945. In 1946, she married Willis “Jim” Deden and together they had a daughter, Ruth Ann. They later divorced and Deloris was united in marriage to Willard “Bill” Schulz in 1978. He passed away in 1996. She owned and operated Deloris’s Lounge in Goodhue for 19 years, retiring in 1981. She also worked part-time at Sargent’s Nursey in Red Wing in the spring/summer months and at Harrington’s in Ellsworth. In 1997, she began working for Hugh’s Shoes in Red Wing, where she worked part-time for many years. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and loved to garden, travel and boat and was an excellent cook and baker.
She is survived by her daughter, Ruth Ann Benidt of Rochester and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Orrie Bredehoft and her husband, Bill Schulz.
Memorial service was at 1 p.m. Friday, July 8, 2022 at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial was at Burnside Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.mahnfamilyfuneralhome.com
