The Sanctuary Proves Popular

Posted

The Sanctuary hosted its last open play day for the season on Saturday April 11th. It was a cool and rainy day perfect for an indoor Easter egg hunt, coloring and enjoying the toys in the spacious former church building. The space and event continues to evolve with hopes of adding more activities for kids aged 7-12. Open play dates will return in the fall when inclement weather can make it more difficult to be outside.

The April event was the first evening open play, which allowed for another event earlier in the day. Marcus Huneke, who owns The Sanctuary with his wife, Brittany, says he is happy with the season’s play days’ attendance both mornings and evening. The free toy swap has been a popular feature with an abundance of donations and most kids leaving with something new.

Open play is not the only thing that brings people to The Sanctuary. Marcus said they have reserved the space for at least one event every weekend since November.
