The Wisconsin Synod churches of Grace, St. Peter’s and St. John’s hosted their annual Summer Vacation Bible School at the St. John’s campus in rural Goodhue July 10-14th. The theme this year was “God’s Great Rescue” and each evening included a visit from different local people that are involved in rescue work including firemen and EMT workers, nurses and members of the military. All ages were welcome and activities included a Bible lesson, singing, crafts and a meal. Average attendance was 54 kids and 20 adults plus teachers and volunteer helpers. On Sunday, July 16th, Pastors Robbert and Weigand conducted a joint congregation outdoor worship service and the children that attended VBS performed the songs they learned during the week. The service was followed by root beer floats, a softball game and socializing.
